WHAT...SUMMER OF '23 IS NOW AT AN END AT CSM.
SO SAD...we know.
It's gonna be OK though we promise.
ALL OF OUR CLASS LISTING BELOW HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. BUT WE STILL HAVE LOADS OF GIGS AND PERFORMANCES AND LESSONS AND RECORDINGS GOING ON THIS FALL AND WINTER!!!! SO PLEASE CHECK IN WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR FOR MORE DETAILS.
Yes, our regular private lessons will continue on throughout this whole summer, but we are offering many more fun classes, camps and performance opportunities this summer of 2023.

JUNE

June 8th / Thurs - last day of LCPS for 2022-23 . . . Congratulations all! CSM rolls on!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT OPEN MIC - FREE and available NOW for every CSM student as a performance option, all ages & all instruments welcome. OPEN every Friday evening at 7pm in suite 4. Hosted by Mr. Jamey and Mr. Wayne. YOU MUST SIGN UP to be placed on the performance list, as space is limited. Email Mr. Jamey to join in on this fun!

CSM MUSICAL PETTING ZOO - TBD* - we are planning some "meet and greets" at CSM for you to come over and meet some of our staff and try out some instruments. This is FREE of course and it is a terrific opportunity for your neighbors to come by, or for anyone interested in music. We can also help you to figure our what instruments your child might be interested in for the middle school band programs in the future. Come and try some instruments out and ask questions. Who knows, maybe you want to swap instruments or study another one or two here with us!?!?! We'll email you again soon with specific dates and details. CSM ORGAN CLASS - TBD* - We just had our first one of these and it was amazing. Make a plan to come over and spend an hour or so one Saturday afternoon on a local church organ, playing an organ piece with all the stops pulled!!! Talk with your piano instructor here about preparing materials for this. Brianna and Wayne will be your hosts. Several of these are in planning for this summer. This is FREE. THIS WAS AMAZING

CSM BUSKING - TBD* - Jamey and Wayne and other CSM staff are gonna grab some students and go perform downtown at lunch hour on various days throughout the summer. Just email and ask Mr. Jamey or Mr. Wayne for details. This is FREE. THIS WAS SUPER FUN
CSM ALUMNI ZOOM - Join Mr. Wayne for several separate and fun Zoom hangouts. Meet and greet a few special CSM alumni in a Zoom room and chat with working musicians and CSM alumni about the music scene, college, practice, recording, gigging and more. Join in and listen and ask questions. TBD* This is FREE. THIS WAS WOW-TASTIC
June 13th – GUITAR STUDIO ENSEMBLES CLASS - Come and play duets, trios and ensemble music with Mr. Jamey every Tues afternoon, from noon to 1pm in suite 4, in a group guitar setting. After it gets rolling we plan to use this period to perform live in downtown Leesburg over the summer. Only $190 ($140 for CSMers) for the entire summer and what an awesome bargain!!!! THIS WAS MORE AMAZING

June 13th – BEGINNING 101 GUITAR CLASS with Mr. Wayne – So you've always wanted to play the guitar? Come on and let’s do this! A fun course every Tues evening @ 7-8pm for 8 weeks in suite 4. Must be 13 or older to join, and YES parents/adults are welcome to come and brush up on some skills. Must be a beginner or little to no experience. Learn your fretboard, chords and all that you can handle to get a fresh start and some help to get playing this summer!!! FEE of $250 ($200 for CSMers), first week free, all materials books, videos and more, ALL included. BONUS

“CSM NIGHT” on Thurs June 15th - at Travinia’s Italian Kitchen in the “Villages at Leesburg”. An evening of great food, fun and jazz music, 7 - 9pm. Come hang out with Mr. Wayne and his friend Caleb Nei along with some of our local musician friends and listen to some live tunes while you relax in a very nice local eatery. This is FREE, except for however much food and drink you purchase :o) BONUS

June 20th – AURAL SKILLS LAB with Mr. Wayne – What can you hear? Can you pickoff/transcribe notes and melodies that you hear on the radio, Spotify, YouTube or another recording, with or without an instrument, like Wolfgang Mozart or Mr. Wayne? This is an aural theory class designed to help you to hear better. 6 - 7pm suite 4, $20 per class. There is only one class planned thus far but others will be added in July and Aug. BONUS

June 19 - 22nd – CSM ELEMENTARY CAMP – With Ms. Brianna & Mr. Wayne. We will be mixing together fun with voices, guitars, pianos, art and composing. Designed for our young CSM musicians, rising 3rd-6th grade students who have some musical skills, love singing, music and art!!! You know who you are!! Mon - Thur, 9am - noon in suite 4. The camp fee is $250 ($200 for CSMers)

June 26 - 29th – CSM HAND DRUMMING CAMP – Mr. TJ will have you playing in small ensembles with cajons, hand percussion, conga and bongo drums. So come and get your summer groove on with Mr. TJ and Mr. Wayne and other special guests. This camp is a great idea for all instrumentalists at every age and stage to come work on your groove, timing and rhythm. Recommended age is 10 years old and above. Mon - Thur, 9am - noon in suite 4. The camp fee is $250 ($200 for CSMers)

COMPOSITION CLASS - TBD* - this continues our class from the spring session that we just completed. Jump on in (any level) and lets begin work on your composing, writing and recording skills. Anyone over 13 is welcome aboard. Mr. Wayne is hosting. The class fee is $250 ($200 for CSMers) BONUS

“CSM NIGHT” at TRAVINIAS is CANCELLED on Thurs July 6th, due to a sick dog at Wayne's house. BUT you can of course still go as the music and food and fun will still be there. And say hey to the band, Dominic and Caleb and others for us.

July 11th - TUESDAY NIGHT THEORY CLASS with Mr. Wayne in the BIG front BIG room inside of suite 4 at 6-7pm, for CSMers ages 12 and up. Come and check out all of the things you really need to know about music, chords, time signatures, meter, keys, scales, modes and more!!! This is a fast and fun refresher course in theory. signups are by emailing Wayne@CSMinspires.com BONUS

July 17 - 20th – STRING ENSEMBLE with Dr. Tara Planeta - an hour ensemble on four afternoons Mon - Thurs 1 - 2pm in suite 4. Designed for middle school and high school aged string players (bass, cello, violin and viola) looking to get more music in over the summer. The class fee is $90 ($75 for CSMers) WOW
July 25 - 28th – PIANO DUETTING CAMP – With Ms. Brianna and Mr. Wayne, a summer piano ensemble experience designed for our more advanced piano students who read really well, like a challenge and want to get more experience performing with others in a group. Mon - Thur, 9am - noon in suite 4. The camp fee is $250 ($200 for CSMers)
