Adam Stokes

Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium

Adam Stokes is a native of Fairfax County Virginia. He received a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Tennessee, and a Masters in Music performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. In 2019, Adam joined the 257th Army National Guard Band in Washington DC.

Adam's primary teachers include Michael Wheeler, (United States Air Force Band) Don Hough, (University of Tennessee) and Peter Norton (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra). Adam has worked extensively as a freelance trombonist and educator in the Northern VA and DC area. In addition to private lessons, he frequently teaches sectionals, Summer camps, and assists with marching band programs. Adam is also currently a brass specialist with the Virginia Winds Academy in Burke VA. Adam has performed with ensembles and at venues across the country, including the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, Fairfax Swing Jazz, and Loudoun Jazz Ensemble. He has also appeared as a featured soloist with Virginia Winds Academy, and the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic.

Adam currently resides in Sterling VA with his wife Jennifer and dog Olive.
