MiKayla Lynn Hatfield

Voice, Opera, Musical Theatre

MiKayla Lynn Hatfield is a native of Van Buren, Arkansas but is currently a resident of Winchester, Virginia. Her degrees consist of a Bachelor of Music from Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, TN) and a Master of Music Performance (Winchester, VA).

Though MiKayla’s degrees are in classical music, her experience and interest spans across many genres. She has been involved in music for 17+ years. Her experience covers Solo Classical Vocal, Choral, Musical Theatre, Worship, Jazz, and Instrumental. Some of MiKayla’s recent theatrical roles include Eugénie in Germaine Tailleferre's La Pauvre Eugénie, Marie Antoinette in Shenandoah Conservatory's Gothic Opera, Suor Angelica from Suor Angelica, Gertrude McFuzz from Seussical, Father from Children of Eden, Ursula in The Little Mermaid, and Hannigan in Annie. In the summer of 2017, MiKayla had the opportunity to participate in Boston Conservatory’s Opera Intensive located in Valencia, Spain. In 2018 she toured with the Trevecca Nazarene University Singers through the United Kingdom and Ireland as a featured soloist. In the summer of 2022 MiKayla attended the prestigious American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria for 6 weeks.

MiKayla has had the opportunity of teaching voice lessons with academy’s, as well as having a small studio of herself. She has experience and a passion for teaching students of all ages. “You are never too young or old to learn about the universal language of music. Music can guide you through the most challenging, and the most beautiful times of your life. My goal is to be here and walk alongside you as we develop your craft. In my lessons there is quite a bit of self discovery. In my studio, I ask for my students to have an open mind as well as an open heart. It’s exciting to be open to new musical and vocal discoveries!”
